In the past, soil stabilization was done by utilizing the binding properties of cement based products and lime in clay soils. BBM® is a new technology product classified as green technology.
BBM® Application
There are basically two methods. After the soil content and moisture analysis, the amount of cement and BBM® and the application method are determined by considering the purpose of use of the road and the data obtained.
Spraying Method; Diluted BBM® is sprayed onto the surface after the cement mixed soil is leveled. Then the soil is compacted.
Mechanical Method; Cement and diluted BBM® are mixed into the soil by reclaiming machines or mechanical mixers to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then the soil is laid, leveled and compacted.
The amount of cohesive fines (silt and clay) in the soil is the main factor in the selection of the method. BBM® can be applied to most soil types.
Cement is added at the rate of 2%-5% of the soil weight to be processed, and BBM® is added at the rate of 2%-4% of the optimum water content.
