Strategies for soil rehabilitation should simultaneously include physical, chemical, and biological solutions.

For the rehabilitation of saline and alkaline soils, mechanical processes such as deep ploughing, bottom tillage, adding sand and soil profile inversion are used.

Biologic treatments; large amounts of organic fertilizer are added to the soil. The permeability of the surface soil increases by loosening the soil, while the CO2 released increases during the decomposition of the fertilizer.

Chemical treatments are used to neutralize the soil reaction, react free soda (sodium carbonate) and replace exchangeable sodium with calcium.
